NIKE's World Cup Run

Of course the World Cup craze has begun recently and it's the talk of the town.  Nike in my opinion has been on fire with their World Cup soccer editions.  I've been so inspired by looking at their gorgeous silhouettes and use of their flyknit material.  These all look beautiful!  I tip my hat off to their design team for these.  Go Google Nike Mercurial Superfly IV, Nike WMNS Free 1.0 Cross Bionic, and Free Mercurial Superfly HTM.

Cubby Golden

I had the pleasure to meet and speak with Cubby briefly while attending PENSOLE.  If you haven't heard of Cubby Golden, he's a former running designer for Nike.  His biggest design was the Nike LunarGlide 2 while there.  I just read his inspiring story about being a footwear designer and what it takes to be successful.  Any young, aspiring designers out there you WANT to tune in and listen to every word he's speaking.  Click the link below to read up!

James Howe: Howe Concepts

It's my pleasure to introduce you to James Howe.  Who is James Howe?  He's a 19 year old aspiring designer from a small country called Wales in the UK.  He's currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Product Design.  To top it off, he's also designing a sneaker for a premier  soccer team in the UK.  

I originally saw James samples on Instagram and they intrigued me because they were so clean and dope!  But after conversing with him and getting to know him better, his story was significant to me because he's only 19 years old and trying to make an impact in something he loves to do.  AT 19.  It just goes to show you that age has nothing to do with the passion for success and drive.  Read below a little about him and his inspirations.

"My main inspirations would probably be from buying so many sneakers, playing basketball for the past 5 years and being interested in sport in general, always wanting to make a mark on the the world by making great shoes, changing the game of basketball, and also growing up watching LeBron and Kobe, and of course Jordan.  I've always watched interviews and stuff about Tinker Hatfield, he's the main guy."

"I have a few shoe designs that have new technology I've created.  I need to have a sit down with other designers and manufactures to create some of the shoes, not the average every day shoe haha."

"I also have a new basketball shoe that I'm getting made, that's my second shoe, inspiration came from the Jordan XX8 and the Nike Mag, a shoe that's really out there and different, capture people, catch they're eyes."

The Adidas D Rose 4

Adidas' Basketball Footwear Manager Jack Gray sat down with Sole Collector to discuss some of the technology and aesthetic inspirations for Derrick Rose's come back shoe, the D Rose 4.  I really love the direction of this shoe and especially the story behind it's two-tone exterior...makes perfect sense.  I'm just excited to see how well Derrick Rose actually performs in them.  Click the link to read the full story.

Paul Rivera

 One of the most insightful interviews I've read in a long time.  Paul Rivera, if you haven't heard, is one of the most successful brand builders out there.  Reading his story is truly inspiring as he's traveled from Dime Magazine, Nike, and now Beats by Dre.  But the biggest thing I took away from this interview is his importance of relationships and work ethic!  These two subjects are essential in making a successful career.  Please do yourself a favor and read this interview!  ALL OF IT!

EMBRACE

HELLO WORLD!!  EMBRACE because this will be Kanye-like rant!  Rant about what??  SUCCESS!  How bad do you want it?  No, how bad DO YOU WANT IT!  Is it just a fairy tale that you like to read from other celebrities and athletes?  Or is it actually something you want a piece of too? 

Do you sleep or quit when things get tough?  Then you don't want it!  If you give in after all of your hard work then you've given up on hope!  You've given up on your destiny!  You were made to be great!  Why wouldn't you believe that?  Because the path to success is taking longer than what you expected??

How many years did it take before mankind landed on the moon?  How many years before mankind was even airborne??  Either way you look at it, mankind completed the quote-on-quote "impossible"!  Why can't you?!

GET UP and get motivated for the change you can make in this world!  You're only here once, make the best of it!  Your goals in life are on the other side of this tough mountain.  You're constantly weighed down with doubters and obstacles but you're only a few steps away from the top!  After that, the way down is so much easier and gratifying!  So why turn back now??!  

Join the movement people!  We are on the verge of so much greatness!  Once greatness is accomplished strive for awesomeness!  Why stop at greatness?  THAT'S BEEN DONE ALREADY!  THINK BIGGER!

So in conclusion, EMBRACE your future.  EMBRACE the doubters.  EMBRACE those sleepless nights.  EMBRACE the race!  The race to success!  You laced up yet??

Introducing Power Force's new spokesperson: Noah Galloway.  Noah is a double amputee that served in the U.S Army as Sergeant in Yusafiah, Iraq.  He was hit with an IED in 2005, which changed his life forever.
