The Q.DESIGNS "What If" Series

For those that follow me via Instagram have seen this, but for those that haven't...this is part 1 of the Q.DESIGNS "What If" Series.  I wanted to start a design series of shoes that would basically ask the question, "What if Q.DESIGNS was given the opportunity to collaborate with different footwear companies to revamp some of their most popular styles?"

The first shoe up was the Air Jordan 8.  The shoe to me is a classic so I wouldn't change it dramatically.  Slight pattern and outsole changes, added patent leather, different collar shape, and a cool graphic insole.

This is the first shoe, stay tuned for the next!

The Adidas D Rose 4

Adidas' Basketball Footwear Manager Jack Gray sat down with Sole Collector to discuss some of the technology and aesthetic inspirations for Derrick Rose's come back shoe, the D Rose 4.  I really love the direction of this shoe and especially the story behind it's two-tone exterior...makes perfect sense.  I'm just excited to see how well Derrick Rose actually performs in them.  Click the link to read the full story.

Dissect the Jordan Brand Technology

I just recently looked through an article CounterKicks posted about the Jordan Super.Fly 2 and Jordan XX8 technology dissected.  With pictures breaking down each component, you really get a reason why  the Jordan brand can be so expensive at times...it's because of the tooling and technology used!  Click the link below to get a grasp of what it takes to build two of their newest designs.

Nike Zoom KD IV "Kill Bill"

CRAZZZYYY!!  YO, these have to be the dopest customs of this year yet!  Shouts out to Gourmet Kicks for this crazy idea.  The packaging and overall quality of execution of these is just genius and well done.  Dope blood splatters and tongue patches all point back to the film.  If Nike, ever decided to release these as limited pairs believe people would be fighting over them like the movie!  Click the link below to check out more pics.

Top 10 Basketball Sneakers Since 2000

I ran across this article posted by DIME Magazine a few days ago and found it very interesting.  Interesting because seeing these Top 10 sneakers brought back so many memories and excitement when they first dropped.

Note that the original date this article was published was in September of 2012, so of course there should be more recently releases added to the list.  I can tell you for sure the KD II looks hideous compared to the signature line Kevin Durant has now!  So much growth!  Click the link below to see the count down and watch the videos to throw you back in time.
